Decked the Halls

Blogging has not been a priority for me lately, but I thought I’d post some pictures of my decked halls and wish readers a merry Christmas, happy holidays, and best wishes for 2022. I think we could all use a happy new year. I don’t have any big year-end wrap up to post. My sports gambling “career,” which I decided to pursue during the shutdown, has gotten off to a much slower start than I would have liked. But it provides some excitement and there’s something good—yes, simply good—about knowing what you want to do. A few years ago, I told a friend that I’d be done writing if I didn’t have any success by age 50. The milestone is just weeks away (as much as I’d like to say “next year,” it’s not even fooling me, anymore), but I still hope to complete a reboot/sequel of Super Crip. I just joined a second Y much closer to my home. I’m hoping it will help me continue to keep this body going—and, of course, reaching past my limits. Otherwise, I don’t know what the future holds. I have some ideas, and, hopefully, I’ll be able share them with you someday. Enjoy the pics! (Special thanks to mom for decorating!)

Oh, Christmas tree. Oh, Christmas tree . . .
Ok, not quite, but we put some colored lights
on the fake tree in the corner for a more festive feel.

Turned off the room lights to show off the tree lights.
Not sure it worked, but you get the idea.

The snowman is lit! It might be the best way to
enjoy the holidays.

We put up a mini Dickens village this year. It's
always one of my favorite decorations.

I went for a close-up of the village.
This is what it looks like lit!

"Joy" decoration
Joy to the world . . .

Somehow this truck reminds me of Gibbs' father
on NCIS. Anyway, there's something rustic or
basic/simple about it that I like.

Rockin' snowman! Love hitting the button on
this guy for a melody of Christmas carols!

Wall ornament saying, "Merry Christmas"
This says it all!
